
Dr. Jamie Wells
Dr. Jamie L. Wells, MD, FAAP, an RSI alumna, is the newly appointed Director of the Research Science Institute (RSI), collaboratively sponsored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Center for Excellence in Education (CEE). She is deeply committed to educating, mentoring and career advising the next generation. As an adjunct professor at Drexel University’s School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, she has helped them spearhead the nation's first degree program in pediatric engineering. Dr. Wells is an award-winning Board-certified physician with many years of experience caring for patients. She was recently profiled in HealthVenture’s #WomanCrushEntrepreneur series highlighting awe-inspiring women leading transformation in healthcare, as a physician leader by the Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation and was featured in Physician Outlook Magazine's #stellardoc campaign during National Physicians' Week. She is Founder & President of the Yale Alumni Health Network as well as a member of The Leadership Council of The Wistar Institute, the nation’s first independent biomedical research facility. Dr. Wells has been interviewed on major media outlets as a medical expert and published over 400 articles ranging from health policy to tech discovery. She champions human-centered design and increased connectivity between disciplines as the optimal path toward genuine innovation.
