
Dr. Kibae Kim
Dr. Kibae Kim is a principal researcher at the Fourth Industrial Revolution Intelligence Center and the Korea Policy Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution of KAIST, a fellow at the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the World Economic Forum, and a member of the IEEE Standard Association 3800. Before this position, he was a research assistant professor at Moon Soul Graduate School of Future Strategy of the same institute and a BK Assistant Professor at the Technology Management, Economics and Policy Program of Seoul National University, South Korea. He received the B.Sc. degree from the Korea Institute of Advanced Science and Technology, Korea, in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Technology Management Economics and Policy from Seoul National University, Korea. His research focuses on creating an interdisciplinary area between statistical physics, business, and economics. In detail, his research covers the empirical and numerical analysis of knowledge, innovation, and software service networks and the nonlinear dynamic behavior of agents in complex socio-economic environments. He is currently investigating the effect of technological convergence on innovation performance by considering a dynamic landscape of technologies and the socio-economic aspects of blockchains, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
