Since 2020, Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) has kept the industry up to date with the Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI), the most comprehensive industry-focused effort to map and analyze the blockchain and digital assets space.
This body of work supports the advancement of common standards to enable adoption, incentivize continued innovation, and advance collaboration. GSMI content is referenced and utilized by corporations, regulators, government agencies, and academia globally, seeking a holistic view of critical topics for the blockchain and digital assets community.

2024 IFC-Milken Scholars
GBBC is pleased partner with the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Program, which builds a global network of financial policy leaders, and introduce our 2024IFC-Milken Institute Capital Market Scholars, Sherece Neal andRithy Pich. They play a key role in assisting with the development and creation of GSMI 5.0, a continuation and expansion of the comprehensive effort to map global standards and regulation for blockchain and digital assets.
The tenth cohort of IFC-Milken Institute Capital Market Scholars includes2 participants from 17 countries (Angola, Azerbaijan, Belize, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, Kosovo, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Türkiye, Uganda).

GBBC partnered with London School of Economics (LSE) and Political Science and The George Washington University (GW) for the 2024 GSMI Fellows Program, an eight-month fellowship for exceptional students from partner academic institutions who contribute to GSMI 5.0 research and analysis.
Our GSMI Fellows Adrian Matak, student at LSE and Namrritha Senthilkumar, student at GW, both students at Queens College, are actively involved in research on blockchain and digital assets to advance educational initiatives and taxonomy.
