Abror Mirzo Olimov, expert in financial markets with over a decade of experience, currently serves as the Deputy Chairman and Member of the Board at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. In this pivotal role, he leads the formation and implementation of the Central Bank's policies in currency regulation and control, ensuring a robust and systematic approach to managing the country's balance of payments. Previously, as Deputy Head of the Monetary Operations Department, Abror Mirzo played a key role in issuing government bonds and Central Bank bills, in line with the inflation targeting regime. His expertise further extends to his tenure as Head of the Division at the Department of Prudential Supervision of Credit Institutions, where he ensured banks complied with regulatory standards. Holding a Master's degree in Public Policy from Hitotsubashi University, Japan, Abror Mirzo deepened his knowledge at the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Program at George Washington University in 2023, participating in an impactful internship at the GBBC and contributing to the Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI) 4.0. With a keen interest in the emerging field of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC), Abror Mirzo's role at the Central Bank positions him at the forefront of this innovative area, bridging traditional financial systems with blockchain technology. A dedicated father to two sons, Abror Mirzo exemplifies a balance between professional excellence and personal commitment, bringing a holistic perspective to his role as a GBBC Uzbekistan Ambassador.
