Kenneth Katafono

Kenneth Katafono is a Fijian ICT professional, consultant, and technology entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience designing and delivering digital solutions across the Pacific region. He is the founder and Managing Director of Traseable Solutions, a Fiji-based data and consulting firm established in 2017 with his wife, Shauna. The company specialises in digitalisation, traceability, and information systems that support agriculture, fisheries, and climate/disaster sectors, working closely with governments, international development partners, and private companies. Traseable is also a pioneer in the application of blockchain technology in seafood transparency, piloting the first use of the technology in Pacific tuna fisheries in 2018.

Kenneth has led the design and implementation of national and regional digital platforms that strengthen data governance, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making, particularly in small-island and developing-state contexts. Alongside his entrepreneurial work, he serves as an international consultant and has contributed to projects funded or supported by organisations including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), GIZ, and UNESCAP.

Kenneth is committed to advancing practical, inclusive, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies, especially in developing countries. He advocates for the use of blockchain and digital public infrastructure to enhance trust, traceability, and economic resilience in Pacific Island countries, ensuring that innovation is grounded in local realities and delivers tangible development outcomes.
