Elçin Karatay is the Managing Partner of Solak & Partners Law Firm and a member of the Istanbul Bar Association. She leads the firm’s strategic advisory practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, IT law, capital markets, and FinTech, advising domestic and international clients on cross-border transactions, regulatory compliance, and technology-driven business models.

Her professional experience includes leading projects in the IT and FinTech sectors, including the establishment of strategic partnerships, negotiation of software development and licensing agreements, regulatory licensing processes for financial institutions, and the preparation of legal opinions on Türkiye’s regulatory framework. Her expertise in FinTech law is consistently recognized by leading international legal directories, including Chambers & Partners.

In addition to her legal practice, Elçin contributes to regulatory thought leadership as an editor of the International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL). She is actively involved in national and international regulatory and policy initiatives through the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), FinTR, and Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK), supporting industry collaboration and regulatory dialogue.

Elçin holds a law degree with a minor in economics from Koç University and an LL.M. in Private Law from Galatasaray University, where she is currently pursuing her PhD.
