As the CEO and Founder of Nature Wired, Karen is dedicated to leveraging blockchain technology to address environmental and societal challenges. Her journey began nearly two years ago while researching innovative solutions for an ecolodge project in Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest. This experience, combined with understanding blockchain’s potential to enhance the transparency and permanence of nature-based projects, inspired her to found Nature Wired. Its marketplace connects corporate buyers with verified carbon and biodiversity credits. With over 25 years of leadership experience in telecoms, Karen brings a wealth of expertise in strategy, marketing, and innovation. Now, her focus is on creating equitable, technology-driven solutions that enable meaningful and sustainable progress. As a member of the GBBC Voluntary Carbon Markets Taskforce, Karen advocates for the InterWork Alliance’s dMRV framework, ensuring transparency and standards in voluntary carbon markets. She has shared her insights at global events, including Blockchain Central Davos and the 2024 Sustainability Summit during Climate Week NYC. As a GBBC Ambassador, Karen is committed to advancing blockchain’s transformative role in global sustainability.
