Masa is a partner at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, an international law firm with a focus on Asia. As a former FSA official with expertise in technology, Masa has been deeply involved in the crypto rulemaking process in Japan since 2014 to date. In addition, as the founder of the Fintech Practice Team at Mori Hamada, he led the team and published Japan's most popular legal guide for cryptoassets entitled "Laws of Criptoassets". Masa is a legal advisor to Japan Blockchain Association, Japan Cryptoassets Business Association, and Blockchain Collaborative Consortium, helping the private sector navigate how crypto regulation should evolve so that Japan's crypto space can continue to thrive.
