Mr. Parviainen is a former politician and a current public sector leading official. He works as the Mayor/CEO of Hämeenlinna, a city in southern Finland. He is also the chairperson of Event Industry Finland.
Before his current assignment he worked as a State Secretary for the Government of Finland and Ministry of the Interior. He has also served e.g. as a member of Parliament of Finland and in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Mr. Parviainen has a background in information sciences. He has broad interest in information society & technology and their societal impacts and possibilities. He also has extensive interest and experience in digitalization -related issues, comprehensive security and public steering and administration.
