Edmund Chijeh Eric Tamuke is an Economist by training / qualification and also a Master's degree holder in "Development Economics" from the University of Sussex, Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom.

He also hold a graduate certificate in Capital Markets from the George Washington University, United States of America

Edmund is a Senior Research Economist and Analyst at the Bank of Sierra Leone, working in the Model Building and Forecasting  Section within the Economic Modelling and Forecasting Division in the Research and Statistics department - he contribute to the bank's conjectural and forecast-related research analysis [featuring a range of econometric tools like ARIMA, ARIMAX, VECEM, Threshold Regression, VAR and latter developments in FPAS and DSGE] that regularly feeds into Monetary Policy Committee decisions in addressing the core objective of the bank, which is to maintain 'Price Stability'. In addition, he also provide technical support in the area of delivering Applied Econometrics in enhancing empirical research output in the bank and also regularly take the leading role in presenting at Pre-MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) meetings, geared towards updating MPC Members about quarterly macroeconomic dynamics in the economy– such updates are relevant in informing committee members about decisions connected with adjustments of policy rates. He review some of the Research and Statistics Department's economic publications [MER, Yearly and Half-Yearly ER] available for public use on our website www.bsl.gov.sl.

He has participated in relevant professional courses with acclaimed institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), International Financial Cooperation (IFC), West Africa Monetary Agency (WAMA), World Bank (WB), African Development Bank (AfDB) and the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) - featured certification include: Capital Market, DSGE Modelling and Forecasting Monetary Policy and Analysis System (FPAS), Panel Data Analysis, Financial Market Analysis (FMA), Report Writing and Presentation Skills, Financial Planning and Programming (FPP1 & 2) and Macro Econometric Forecasting.

He is very passionate about empirical research and this is evidenced in his co-authorship in several articles published in journals like Journal of Advanced Studies in Finance, Theoretical and Practical Research in the Economic Fields, International Journal of sciences, Encyclopedia of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Springer etc.
