Imeobong Ekong began her career with a law firm where she conducted legal research, and drafted and vetted contract documents. She joined the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria in 2014, where she has gathered experience in compliance, investigation, mediation, enforcement, financial market regulation, anti-money laundering and combating financial terrorism as well as legal advisory services on a wide spectrum of policies and complex capital market issues including SEC Nigeria’s digital asset regulation strategy. She currently heads the Legal team in SEC Nigeria’s Securities and Investment Services Department, responsible for facilitating capital formation for public companies, State governments, and Supranational entities seeking to list on securities exchanges in Nigeria, Imeobong Ekong has a Bachelor of Law from the University of Uyo, Nigeria, and has been called to the Nigerian Bar. She also has a Masters in Corporate and Financial Law from the University of Glasgow, UK. She is an alumna of the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Programme.
