Senior Policy Advisor to the Director General for Digitization and Innovations, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic

Jan serves as a senior policy advisor to the CZ Ministries of Economy in the area of digital innovation, incl. DLT/blockchain. From this position, he serves as the current co-chair of the European Blockchain Partnership between the European Commission and EU27 Member States which is responsible for the blockchain policy and EBSI implementation. His work also includes convenorship of the EBSI SME financing use case that should fundamentally support the twin digital and green transition of European small businesses and their recovery from the economic crisis.

Jan serves also as General Secretary of INATBA Board of Directors..Last three years he also had the pleasure of serving as INATBA SWG3 co-chair. The group was involved in the MiCA task force and is responsible for the recently published series of policy papers on DeFi, DAO, NFTs and regulatory sandboxes.

Lawyer by background and training, Jan spent several years in the media as an IT/economic editor and policy commentator, cooperated with several global think tanks, and authored public policy strategies and documents. Also co-founded a fintech startup in New York City.
