Marwan Gzllal

Marwan Gzllal is Deputy Head of International - Financial Markets Division for the Central Bank of Libya. He currently holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Heriot-Watt University and a Master’s Degree of Science in Accounting from Leeds Metropolitan University. At the Central Bank of Libya, Marwan helps to manage bond portfolios comprised of various currencies with USD billions in assets. He develops and implements bank strategies, policies, procedures, and best practices to maximize performance. Marwan works to establish and improve all Treasury processes, procedures, and guidelines. Following the bank’s policy, he ensures proper internal controls and process flows are well implemented; furthermore, he develops reports to provide concise visibility to senior management of the bank’s treasury position in cash and foreign currencies. Prior to his current role, Marwan was the Head of Internal Portfolios Unit – Financial Markets Department at the Central Bank of Libya where he executed short-term money-market deposits and foreign exchange transactions with different counterparties around the world and performed cash flow analysis to ensure consistent monthly liquidity for Central Bank obligations. For 2 years, he was an Investment Analyst and FX Trader within the Reserves Department.
