Michael Carr

Michael Carr is a Director at Buen Crypto Consulting, Ireland and the UK’s only dedicated professional services firm to Blockchain and Digital Assets. With over 18 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector, Michael has held diverse roles in both industry and consulting. He has actively contributed to projects in Banking and Capital Markets, working with domestic Irish banks as well as international financial organisations. Notably, Michael has played a key role in overseeing the decommissioning of an international bank, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance and data security. Additionally, he has successfully managed significant strategic revenue and regulatory projects for domestic Irish banks. 

Furthermore, Michael has made significant contributions in his previous role at Deutsche Bank, where he served as the project manager for their Brexit transition project. He has also overseen critical infrastructure projects for FX4cash and led the roll-out of Agile project methodology for Deutsche Bank.

In 2018, Michael ventured into the academic realm of Blockchain and Digital Assets through research and development, which led to the establishment of Buen Crypto Consulting. In addition to his role in establishing Buen Crypto Consulting, he has spearheaded the company's internal Blockchain and Digital Asset professional services sector. Michael is recognised as an authority on the VASP application process in Ireland and the broader European Area, providing support to businesses in their re-location through his Regulatory and Compliance team.
