Education

Michael M. Wechsler is a technology attorney, advisor, and lecturer of Blockchain and Money and The Economics of Cryptoassets at the City University of New York (CUNY), Queens College School of Business. Prior to CUNY, Michael served as an Associate Research Scholar at Columbia Business School where he created and produced academic research and comprehensive events covering technology, regulation and policy related to digital financial services, innovation, inclusion, and blockchain technology. Several notable publications include The State of Regulatory Sandboxes in Developing Countries , Mobile Coverage and its Impact on Digital Financial Services,Development of an Actionable Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework for Digital Financial Services in the Developing World , and Gender, Cybersecurity and Fraud in DFS and significant research and writing for Regulation of the Financial Components of the Crypto-Economy. Michael was also founder and president of TheLaw.com Inc., served as Senior V.P. of Strategy at IDT Inc.’s Internet Mobile Group, Legal Consultant for electronic discovery at Kroll Ontrack, and Director of Legal and Business Affairs at iVillage Inc. Michael holds an MS (Technology Management) from Columbia University, a JD as a St. Thomas More Scholar from St. John’s University School of Law, an MBA from CUNY Baruch College Zicklin School of Business, and a BA from CUNY Queens College.
