Neil Cohn

Neil is an innovator in sustainable finance who was instrumental in developing early markets for carbon, renewable energy, and biodiversity.  Neil is passionate about leveraging decentralized finance to deliver on the best intentions of blockchain – sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity.

Neil started his career trading commodities at Glencore. In 1997 the Kyoto Protocol inspired Neil to co-found the environmental finance desk at Natsource that pioneered the carbon and renewable trade industry.  Neil advised the Obama presidential transition on environmental justice and established Macquarie Bank's environmental finance team in the Americas.  Neil’s entrepreneurial ventures include N-Flex that converted previously flared gas from fracking to green ammonia to fertilize the North Dakota row crops on the surface.

  As Global Head of Markets & Sustainability at Chia Network, Neil has forged partnerships with development banks, including the World Bank, and governments such as Costa Rica to deliver decentralized climate finance infrastructure that can serve as a bridge to a more equitable global economy.
