Raymond Kahn

Ray Kahn focuses on the rapid convergence of traditional and digital markets

Ray combines his expertise in capital markets, risk/collateral management, trading platforms, and financial infrastructure with emerging technologies to develop enhanced applications for traditional and digital markets. He was an early identifier of the potential of Blockchain/DLT in financial markets. After a 25+ year financial career on Wall Street, Ray currently advises technology-focused companies developing key advancements and products in what he refers to as “tradigital markets” (deploying the best elements of both traditional and digital to implement optimal markets).

Ray is a co-founder of Shomei, a platform combining patented IoT/NFC and Blockchain technologies to create “Last Mile” connectivity to transact/manage physical and digital assets on mobile phones. Shomei provides simple, secure, and private access of digital assets on the internet, facilitating mainstream adoption of digital assets globally. He is the founder of Archon Advisors LLC, which advises emerging FinTech companies in areas such as market structure, operational efficiencies, and regulatory matters. 

In traditional finance, Ray was President of ICE’s Creditex electronic trading business, built and led Barclays’ OTC Derivatives Clearing unit, and served as Global Head of Barclays’ Prime Services Risk during the credit crisis. Ray is a frequent invited speaker at many financial and technology conferences across the globe, including FED, IOSCO, FIA, World Federation of Exchanges, and crypto events. He has an MBA from Wharton, and BA from the Univ. of Michigan. Ray is an active mentor, serving as charter member of TiE New York and a R3 startup mentor.
