Bárbara Stephanie Armas Rato is an economist and data scientist with a strong quantitative background in econometrics, financial risk, and emerging monetary systems. She is a PhD candidate in Economic Sciences and an academic researcher focused on the economic and institutional implications of digital assets and blockchain-based financial innovation.

Bárbara is the recipient of the Piensa Bitcoin Award from the Instituto de Formación Económica y Bitcoin (IFEB) for her research “Bitcoin and Risk Perception: Financial Disruption in the U.S. Banking System,” which highlights the role of digital assets in altering risk preferences and institutional behavior in modern finance.
