GBBC CRO Emma Joyce's Interview with The Digital Economist (2024)

During Paris Blockchain Week 2024, GBBC's Chief Revenue Officer, Emma Joyce, provided her optimistic outlook for the future of the blockchain industry as part of The Digital Economist’s Industry Outlook: Blockchain & Digital Assets 2025 – 26 report.  

Emma noted that the industry is “cautiously optimistic” for 2024 after a formidable year in 2023, motivated by “increased dialogue with regulators” and “a push for regulatory clarity across jurisdictions.” She highlighted milestones, including the first U.S. digital assets taxonomy approved by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Europe’s progress with MiCA as signs of upward trajectory.  

She emphasized that balancing innovation with consumer protection remains a crucial area, one that demands “cross-jurisdictional collaboration” to bolster security and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, Emma pointed out that institutional adoption is growing, with large financial institutions “increasingly exploring blockchain projects despite recent challenges.”
