Since 2020, GBBC has kept the industry up to date with Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI), the most comprehensive effort to map and analyze the blockchain and digital assets ecosystem.

In its 7th iteration, the open-source set of resources comprising GSMI spans 230+ jurisdictions across the regulatory landscape for blockchain & digital assets, tracks 100+ technical standards bodies shaping technical frameworks, maps 130+ academic programs supporting the next generation of talent, connects 2,000+ ecosystem stakeholders worldwide, and offers in-depth reports on the most pressing themes in the space.  

This week, we released the GSMI 7.0 Taxonomy, which encompasses 450+ key terms.

Establishing a common language in this emerging space is fundamental for shared understandings, collaboration, and scalability. By achieving harmonized regulatory developments, we can foster an environment of shared understanding and terminology, laying the groundwork for future advancements and progress.

Additionally, GSMI 7.0’s Interactive Regulatory Map and the Global Regulators List, driven by the expertise of IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Scholars Ahmed Arushadh and Estifanos Melkamu, are now live as well.
