Scam Alert: Beware of Individuals Impersonating GBBC

We have been made aware of scams falsely using Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC)’s name to contact individuals, claiming to be a part of our team and/or affiliated with our organization. These messages are not from us.

GBBC will never ask for personal information, payment, or sensitive data via unsolicited messages or phone calls. Here is a quick checklist to help verify if a communication is legitimate:

✔️ Check the actual email address, not just the display name. Look for subtle spelling tweaks or generic domains (e.g., Gmail instead of a corporate domain)

✔️ Look at the official company "Team" page or LinkedIn to verify if the person actually works there and holds that role

✔️ Watch out for high-pressure timelines or threats of negative consequences if you do not act immediately

✔️ Be highly skeptical of sudden changes to standard operating procedures, such as requests to update banking/wire details or moving a conversation to personal channels (like WhatsApp)

With the rising number of industry scams, please help us by flagging these situations. If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from GBBC, do not engage. Please report it to us immediately at info@gbbc.io.

Thank you and stay safe!
