Since 2021, GBBC has released the International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL), an open access online journal written and edited by lawyers, designed to help business and non-legal communities better understand the world of blockchain and digital assets.

The roundtable focused on aligning GBBC and members around top global priorities for 2026, with emphasis on strategic policy engagement and member-led workstreams.

Version 3.0 of the dMRV Framework introduces targeted but important updates that enhance the framework’s usability and scalability. The most significant change is the modularization of MRV Extensions into reusable Extension Sets.

MRV Extension Sets: Grouping of templates which encompass entities, messages, formulae, and variables that are specific to the Quality Standard or Methodology that the Activity Impact Module is bound to. They are typically composed of multiple MRV Extensions for modules or activities and can be defined by the supplier, verifier, and issuer based on a set of methodology modules.

To meet the rising demand for transparent, trustworthy, and scalable carbon markets, the InterWork Alliance (IWA) and Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) have collaborated with ecosystem members and stakeholders to refine definitions, address gaps, and deliver Version 3.0 of the Digital Measurement, Reporting & Verification (dMRV) Framework.

This paper covers the most important considerations for DeFi governance, drawing largely on selected submissions to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Crypto Task Force’s request for inputs regarding the application of federal securities laws to blockchain and digital assets – specifically submissions that provide recommendations relevant for the DeFi ecosystem.
