Dr. Reto Luthiger

Reto Luthiger is an experienced Swiss lawyer, serving as a partner and a board member of MLL Legal Ltd as well as co-head of MLL’s Regulatory, Fintech & DLT practice group, Insurance industry group, and Compliance & Internal Investigations industry group.

He advises and represents domestic and international clients in financial markets regulatory and civil law matters as well as (enforcement) proceedings before Swiss regulator FINMA, self-regulatory organisations (SROs), supervisory organisations (SOs), other authorities and courts.

He is a recognized expert in financial market regulations, fintech and blockchain and has wide-ranging experience in payment and banking, AML/CTF and sanctions, financial services, securities regulations, capital markets, FMI, collective investment schemes, FATCA/AEoI/CARF.

Reto Luthiger acts as CEO of the Self-Regulatory Organization of Swiss Association of Investment Companies (SRO SAIC) and serves as board member of SR Saphirstein AG (fiat24) having a fintech license.

He has an EMBA and wrote his PhD-thesis in the area of AML (awarded with the Professor Walther Hug prize).
